I wanted to use the fram because I believe it's superior to the delco but I put the two side by side and the fram is about an inch shorter.They list both the PH3506 and the PH3675 for my application. That being said, there were modifications made in terms of weight, base plate, pleats, thickness, and number of inlet holes.It's difficult to get authoritative information on oem efficiency. One difference is the ACDelco PF63e uses a separate poppet type dome bypass. Otoh, the ST equivalent uses a nitrile combo valve, ie., bypass and adbv in one. Imo, that's the bigger deal. ACDelco bypass design is superior to the combo valve design.The use of a replacement oil filter with an internal bypass valve opening pressure specifications of 15 PSI (100 kPa) or less, allows debris to circulate in the engine causing damage to bearings and other tight tolerances areas, which may result in premature engine failure.
